Senior Penetration Tester (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Penetration Tester to join their dedicated cybersecurity team. This role is fully remote, allowing you to contribute to our security efforts from the comfort of your home office. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive security assessments of our applications, networks, and infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities and provide actionable recommendations for remediation. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of various attack vectors, exploitation techniques, and security testing methodologies. You will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure security is integrated into the entire system lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, scope, and execute penetration tests on web applications, mobile applications, APIs, networks, and cloud environments.
• Identify, exploit, and document security vulnerabilities using a variety of tools and techniques.
• Perform thorough analysis of identified vulnerabilities and assess their potential impact.
• Provide clear, concise, and actionable remediation recommendations to development and operations teams.
• Develop and maintain custom scripts and tools to automate security testing processes.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest penetration testing techniques, tools, and industry trends.
• Collaborate with security engineers and developers to ensure vulnerabilities are effectively addressed.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of penetration testing methodologies and standards.
• Document test findings and generate comprehensive reports for technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
• Proven experience with various penetration testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, OWASP ZAP).
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, web application security, and common vulnerabilities (e.g., SQL injection, XSS, CSRF).
• Experience in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for tool development.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, GPEN, or CISSP are highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fully remote setting.
