Position: Professor of Cybersecurity Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) – Faculty of Business and Economics, Ansbach. Reference no.: 2026‑35‑ITG. Commencing as soon as possible.

Responsibilities Represent the field of cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance with a focus on organisational information security; include auditing, risk and compliance management, technical and organisational data protection measures, and business continuity in teaching and applied research.

Establish and lead a study specialization in the aforementioned subject area. Conduct additional courses at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, as well as within the doctoral program. Carry out research and development activities. Proactively acquire third‑party funding through research and transfer activities.

Deliver practice‑oriented teaching in the subject areas both in German and in English, and use digital formats (e‑learning, blended learning). Develop content‑specific and strategic subject areas with a special focus on digitisation. Supervise practical assignments, Bachelor’s and Master’s theses, and doctorates at high quality.

Involve actively and inter‑disciplinarily in administering academic affairs. Offers Permanent appointment with public‑service status (if requirements are met). Services for dual‑career couples through the Dual Career Netzwerk Nordbayern. Freedom to research and teach innovative topics.

Scope for shaping academic self‑administration, such as the conceptual development of degree programmes. Opportunities to supervise consortial doctorates. Recruitment Requirements Completed university degree, preferably in computer science, business informatics or a comparable subject area.

Relevant professional experience in responsible roles in organisational information security/governance/compliance, e.g., (Chief) Information Security Officer, ISMS/GRC management, IT auditing, data protection, or risk/BCM.

Knowledge of common frameworks/regulations (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001/27005/27701, BSI IT‑Grundschutz/C5, ISO 22301, NIS2/DORA, SOC 2/ISAE, TISAX). Very good German and English proficiency, and the ability and willingness to teach in both languages. Enthusiasm for passing on practical experience in applied research to students as future academics.
